You need to drive for 35-40 minutes following route directions from the examiner. The examiner must be satisfied that you are a good, safe driver who follows the rules given in the Highway Code and represents no danger to yourself or other road users.
This is impossible to answer because everyone learns at a different pace. All we can say is that normally people take between 30 and 50 hours to get to test standard.

Things you can do to reduce the time and costs are: block book your lessons; get extra practice in a friend or relative's car; do extra theory study between lessons; concentrate during your lesson.
